Spending time out in the sun is not only fun, but it also has a great impact on our bodies and lives. As recent study found that people with higher levels of sun exposure on a regular basic tend to have higher cognitive function. Cognitive functions can be defined as: cerebral activities that lead to knowledge, including all means and mechanisms of acquiring information. These functions include reasoning, memory, attention, and language. In order to live the best, most active life possible, we need to have these cognitive functions at their highest ability.
Not only is it important to spend time out in the sun as a child but also as an elder. As we get older, we tend to lose our memory, attention span and ability to reason – these are all directly related to our cognitive functions. Spending time outside during peak sunshine hours (will vary depending on your location) is more important than we thought!
